<td>The Early Steps program is currently accepting applications for Infant Toddler Developmental Specialists (ITDS) as Independent (1099) Providers to serve infants &amp; toddlers birth to three years old in Escambia, Okaloosa, Walton &amp; Santa Rosa Counties. Candidates can choose to serve 1 county or multiple counties. The ITDS works as an interdisciplinary team member &amp; focuses on the development of children ages birth to three. The ITDS maintains a caseload, providing caregiver coaching, family training &amp; special instruction of developmentally age appropriate activities in the children’s natural environments. The ITDS, in consultation with other early intervention providers on the child &amp; family’s team, assists the family &amp; caregivers in understanding the special needs of the child &amp; enhancing the child’s development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Build rapport with families &amp; team members; appropriately interact &amp; communicate with individuals from various cultural &amp; socio-economic backgrounds
Participate in eligibility determination
Assist in the development of functional outcomes &amp; goals on the child’s Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP)
Communicate with families about their child’s development, strengths &amp; needs
Assist families with embedding functional strategies into their daily routines &amp; activities
Monitor &amp; adjust strategies to meet the child &amp; family’s changing needs
Participate in meetings &amp; consultation relating to the child’s outcomes, goals, &amp; IFSP
Maintain up-to-date files/charts (written &amp;/or electronic) for the purpose of ensuring alignment with specific program requirements.
Maintain accuracy &amp; confidentiality with all correspondence &amp; records
Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient &amp; effective team.

1. In-field degree: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited College or University &amp; one year of paid experience with children birth through 4 yrs with special needs or developmental delays.

Essential Functions:1. Provides coaching, education and mentoring to Direct Service Provider (DSP) ITDS’s countywide through home visits, consultations, and evaluation observations.2. Participates in SCES quarterly quality assurance activities, is subject to work audits and ongoing changes in processes to support best practices.

3. Develops and provides micro trainings for DSP providers related to paperwork, processes, and conducting sessions.

4. Maintains limited caseload and conducts initial eligibility evaluations.

5. Participates in and conducts activities as part of the SCES Ambassador Team.

6. Instrumental with gathering and assessing empirical evidence to advance the field.

7. Will periodically perform other duties outside the scope of day-to-day assigned activities to include community events and research support.

Working Conditions:
• Work is performed in a climate-controlled office, and in family homes and daycares in Brevard County.
• The age ranges of clients served are children from birth up to 36 months.

• Bachelor’s degree in special education, early childhood development, developmental psychology or related fields, or degree in the above-mentioned fields, with two years of experience providing direct services to infants and toddlers who are at risk or with special needs and their families.
• FL-EPIC certified
• Two years of demonstrated experience with administration of a variety of infant/child assessments and early intervention sessions.
• Requires excellent interpersonal skills to address the needs of a diverse population with different backgrounds, requiring the ability to use a high level of inclusive leadership.
• Requires ability to develop rapport with infants and toddlers in short periods of time.
• Ability to work well under pressure, manage stress effectively, and demonstrate
flexibility and empathy.
• Must be able to function in an interdisciplinary team utilizing a family-centered approach
• Physical capability of standing, stooping, squatting for long periods of time and periodic lifting to 25 lbs. is required to engage in work activities with children.
