The Developmental Center for Infants and Children is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual Family Resource Specialist (FRS) to utilize your firsthand knowledge to provide invaluable assistance, support, and education to families with children (ages 0-36 months) of varying abilities in Central Florida.

Key Responsibilities

Event Coordination: Strategize and execute educational and social events aimed at fostering support and connections among families in the Central Florida Early Steps program.

Parent Workshops/Webinars Participation: Engage in Parent Workshops/Webinars, facilitating sessions on essential topics such as Transition from Early Steps to the School System, Individualized Education Plans, and Positive Parenting. Provide a supportive environment for families to share experiences and learn from expert presenters.

Resource Management: Take charge of gathering, organizing, and disseminating essential resources tailored to the needs of families, ensuring accessibility and relevance.

Requirements:
Education/Training
• High School (H.S.) diploma or General Education Development (GED) plusExperience
• Two (2) years’ experience working in early childhood development, with families, or related field, to include Six (6) months involvement in the community with knowledge of local resources.
• Must be a parent of a child who received early intervention services or would have been eligible to receive such services, as required by the Florida Department of Health, Children’s Medical Services Infants and Toddler’s Program Plan and Operations Guide (PPOG) funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Part C of the Individuals with disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
• Communication skills that will enable successful participation in training events and public speaking presentations.

Central Florida – Family Care Coordinator

Family Care Coordinator – Developmental Center for Infants and Children

Position Description:
The Family Care Coordinator (FCC) provides intensive family support services to families of infants and young children who have or are at risk of developing disabilities or developmental delays. The FCC provides each family with a comprehensive orientation to early intervention and the Family Support Planning process. The FCC will have a base location however, it will be primarily field based with the ability to travel to family homes in Orlando, Osceola and Seminole County.

About the Developmental Center for Infants and Children:

Every child is different. But one thing they all have in common is the need for support as they grow. This is especially true of kids at risk for developmental delays and disabilities. That is why the Developmental Center and Early Steps model exists as an early intervention program that provides specialized services for children up to the age of three who have developmental delays or special needs in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.

Requirements:
Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major emphasis in early childhood, social work, special education, child development, health education, psychology, and/or interdisciplinary sociology. Bachelor degree in another area, to be considered for this position, must have additional experience (see below).
Must complete service coordination apprenticeship and enroll as a service coordinator with the Children Medical Services Early Steps State Office and with Medicaid Targeted Case Management and within 90 days of hire.Licensure/Certification
Valid Florida driver’s license with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards.Experience
One (1) year of experience working with young children (0 to 3 years of age) and early intervention is required.
If bachelor’s degree in another area of study than what is listed above – must have three years’ experience working with young children and early intervention.Responsibilities
Establishes rapport and a continuous relationship with each family during the child’s first 3 years of life, providing support and advocacy as the family works on their Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP).
Regularly meets with families in person, by phone or via telehealth platforms to orient them to the Early Steps program, provide screening assessments, schedule service provision, update the child’s IFSP and provide information and referrals.
Based upon the wishes of the family and in collaboration with them, other Developmental Center team members and involved agencies, works to meet family needs, such as the need for therapies, special equipment, counseling, information on parenting or prematurity, or assistance in locating other community resources.
Acts as a liaison between the family and multiple agencies, and helps families make informed choices about services for themselves and their children with special needs.
Ensures all activities are appropriately documented in case files, required data is gathered, and billing procedures are completed to support Targeted Case Management as required by the Florida Department of Health Early Steps State Office (ESSO) and Medicaid Program Guidelines.
Maintains confidentiality of data and information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and Orlando Health policies.
Performs intake coordination services as needed. Receives and processes all incoming referral phone calls, faxes and emails.
Describes program services and eligibility requirements to caregivers and referral sources. Gathers all pertinent information from caregivers to complete intake paperwork. Knowledgeable of all referral criteria, eligibility codes and insurance requirements.
Provides guidance to caregivers and create case files.
Research child’s information in the program database for prior program involvement. Research child’s information in the Medicaid system to check on and verify Medicaid status and coverage, and completes and tracks appropriate correspondence. Creates child’s electronic and paper record within 24 hours.
Schedules and participates in multi-disciplinary team evaluations of children to determine eligibility for the Early Steps program.
Schedules and participates in transition meetings with local schools when children turn three years old.
Serves as the primary point of contact for caregivers of children for the duration of time they are in the Early Steps program, which may be up to 36 months.
Reviews each child’s IFSP every six months to assess progress in achieving goals and provide feedback to caregivers.
Schedules and participates in annual IFSP updates for each child on their caseload.
Supports and encourages parents/caregivers to become active participants in their child’s IFSP and development.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADAAA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.Other Related Functions
Keeps abreast of relevant community services. Attends interagency meetings, in-services training programs and team meetings.
Collaborates with other Developmental Center staff serving the same families to ensure coordinated care.
Participates with the team in program planning and development; defining and implementing departmental objectives, procedures and policies; and ensuring the continuous improvement of services.
Collaborates with the team to ensure the integrity and organization of the documentation and process chart filing/electronic systems.
Coaches families in a manner that encourages them to take an active role in supporting their child’s development and responds to the needs and priorities they have established.
Respects clients’ right to have personal and confidential matters dealt with in a dignified manner; and esteems their ethnic and cultural distinctiveness.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned caseload. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of young children’s growth and development and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policy and procedures.
Maintains electronic FCC rotation schedules through communication from the assistant manager and ensuring appropriate distribution of cases amongst the FCCs.
Maintains detailed tracking system of attempts to contact caregivers or referral sources as required by the contract with the Florida Department of Health.
Demonstrates an open, honest, caring and committed communication style.
Practices efficient use of appropriate supplies and equipment.

Utilize diagnostic expertise to accurately identify conditions, create personalized treatment plans, and establish achievable goals for each patient. Implement evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to optimize physical function and enhance overall well-being. Position Description:
Arnold Palmer Hospital’s Developmental Center for Infants and Children is seeking a dedicated and experienced Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist (ITDS) to join our team.

As an ITDS, you will focus on delivering functional, routines-based interventions that are directly linked to evaluation and assessment findings, ensuring they align with the goals and outcomes outlined in the Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP).
You will play a crucial role in conducting Multidisciplinary Team Developmental Evaluations for Central Florida Early Steps. This involves assessing the developmental needs of infants and toddlers within the birth to 3-year-old population and determining their eligibility for early intervention programs. Your expertise and knowledge in working with children from birth to 5 years old will be highly valuable in this position.

In addition to evaluations, you will collaborate with families to develop Family Centered Outcomes that address the unique needs of each child and their family. Based on the identified outcomes, you will make service recommendations and assist in formulating the Initial IFSP. Your ability to engage and support families throughout this process will be essential to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and effective early intervention services.
