The support you’re looking for

When your child is going through a new or challenging time, receiving support can calm nerves and help parents feel more confident.

A Family Resource Specialist (FRS) is a person who is a family member of a child who was eligible for or received early intervention services. The FRS has firsthand experience of Early Steps and can be a valuable resource for families participating in the program.

Your FRS will support your family by:

  • Discussing your family’s satisfaction with the support and services you’re receiving
  • Ensuring family representation
  • Facilitating Family-to-Family connections
  • Providing information about parent and advocacy support organizations
  • Providing information that will help your family with your child’s development

Find your FRS

The FRS advocates for families and receives feedback from them to help improve and enhance the program. The FRS listens to the views and needs of families, and serves as a community link to support them.

A FRS is located in every Early Steps service area.
